He twirled her around the room and her dress spun with her, opening like a flower. ‘Do you love me?’
‘I’ve loved you your whole life,’ she smiled, and continued to dance.
Ten years later she sat by his bed, holding his hand. ‘There are worse things than death, you know,’ he said to her.
‘Like what?’ she asked.
‘Living forever,’ he said, and died.
